Lana Burmistrova

Lecturer, Department of Musicology

She graduated from the University of Leipzig, Institute of Musicology and developed a bachelor’s thesis titled Structures I von Pierre Boulez – Topostheorie als innere Logik des Formaufbaus. She graduated from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (2017) in the field of Music psychology and developed a master’s thesis titled Attention and memory in the music learning process in individuals with visual impairments. Since spring 2018, she has been academic lecturer at the JVLMA, Department of Musicology.

Her scientific research activities and interests include research into various music psychology and music neuroscience topics in clinical and non-clinical contexts. Currently, she is writing a doctoral thesis based on the effectiveness of the EEG-neurofeedback approach for determining the intrinsic motivation components in the music learning process.

Lana Burmistrova coordinates the project Development of International Cooperation Projects of Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Research and Innovations no. 1.1.1.5/18/I/001, is responsible for the coordination of the JVLMA research projects, scientific activity of the Scientific Research Centre and JVLMA EURAXESS contact point’s activity.
