Do you have your own chair in the Music Academy concert hall?

Support campaign Do you have your own chair in the Music Academy concert hall? began in February of year 2006 and addressed the society, requesting support for refurbishment of JVLMA Great Hall. Back then the campaign had a different title – Immortalize yourself in a chair! 

The campaign was successful – it attracted the attention of many individuals and institutions. 280 new, comfortable and beautiful chairs were installed in JVLMA Great Hall, manufactured by Zunda M company! Zunda M also donated 25 similar chairs to the Senate Hall of JVLMA.

Taking into account the great interest of the society the campaign remains active and still provides an opportunity to immortalize oneself in a chair, however, we are now able to provide a certain feedback. 102 names and titles have been insofar immortalized on the new chairs of JVLMA Great Hall. 88 donors in total have supported the campaign.  

JVLMA Great Hall has become one of the best acoustic halls of classical style in Riga. During the concert season more than 250 events take place there – symphonic, chamber music concerts and solo recitals, opera productions, concert examinations, international competitions, masterclasses of world-class professors.
