Liene Denisjuka-Straupe

Liene Denisjuka-Straupe – flutist. Graduate of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (JVLAM) in 2005, prof. Vilnis Strautiņš' class; Master's Degree (JVLAM) in 2007. In 2007 she graduated Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London as well – prof. Ian Clarke, Philippa Davies and Stephen Preston (traverse flute). In 2014 Liene graduated Rīgas Stradiņš University and obtained master’s degree in music therapy specialization.

In 2001 Liene joined Liepāja’s Symphony Orchestra. During the London period Liene had an opportunity to practice in several “sit-in” collaboration projects between GSMD and London Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra. 2012 she became a musician in orchestra “Rīga”.

Currently Liene teaches style and interpretation, methodology for wind instruments, history of wind and percussion instruments at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvia Academy of Music. Liene frequently leads lectures and master classes in many Latvian cities. Liene regularly performs in various chamber configurations.
