Ilze Nakase studied in Em. Melngailis Liepāja Secondary Music School and graduated Jāzeps Vītols Latvian State Conservatory Piano Performance Class in 1980. During her studies she began working as an accompanist at prof. G. Kokars and J. Dūmiņš choir conducting classes. In 2002 she received her Professional Master’s Degree. Since 1977 she works at Conducting Department and Solo Singing Department of Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. Since 1994 she teaches piano and works as an accompanist at Riga Dome Choir School. As the accompanist of chamber choir ‘Fortiuss’ she has participated in international competitions and choir shows in Latvia and abroad. She has accompanied at four Jāzeps Vītols International Conducting Competitions and six competitions for wind and percussion instruments.
