Zigrīda Krīgere

Docent, Department of Vocal Music

Zigrīda Krīgere in 1988 graduated Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and became a soloist of the Latvian National Opera. Amongst her most notable roles are Elisabeth (Don Carlos), Mimi (La Boheme), Liu (Turandot), Sister Angelica, Tosca, Cio-Cio San (Madame Butterfly), Countess Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro), Norma, Santucca (Cavalleria rusticana), Iolanta, Tatiana, Baņuta, Spīdola (Fire and Night), Kristīne (In the Fire), and others. For a considerable period of time she was the CD recordings project manager and the organizer of various events and concerts at the Latvian National Opera. She is a board member of the Latvian Singing Teachers’ Association. Since 2011 she is the Head of JVLMA Vocal Department.
