On October 8, Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music will host the semi-final concert of the Baltic Big Band Composition Contest "Big Band Compositions by Young Baltic Composers".

The compositions of these 10 authors - Anna Vibe, Arta Jēkabsone, Elza Ozoliņa, Iris Eckert, Jānis Rubiks, Kristina Rantala, Krists Saržants, Reinis Ašmanis, Svens Vilsons, Zane Švēde-Grīnberga - will be performed.
On the concert we will find out three finalists of the contest, whose compositions will be performed on December 4 at Spikeri Concert Hall by the Latvian Radio Big Band and vocalist Beate Zviedre.
The jury consists of the representatives from all three Baltic States who have gained extensive experience and recognition both nationally and internationally - Raul Sööt /Estonia/, Jievaras Jasinskis /Lithuania/ and Rolands Kronlaks /Latvia/.

The ticket price - € 5; for pensioners, students, pupils - € 3.
