Programme
24 preludes for cello solo by Mieczyslaw Weinberg
Stephan Schrader tours as a cellist of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen with musicians like Paavo Järvi, Trevor Pinnock, Roger Norrington, Daniel Harding and many others playing concerts in the most important halls throughout Europe, the U.S.A., South America, Canada and Asia. The versatile cellist (who was teaching at the Hochschule Bremen and organising various workshops and master classes) plays chamber music in string-quartet and piano trio and is a continuo cellist in demand since he has developed his baroque playing in the ensemble Parnassi musici.
In special concerts Stephan plays all the six cello-Suites by J.S. Bach in one day. Very different qualities are presented in Stephan’s entertainig solo-show CELLO-LOOP: here he presents himself as a composer, an ingenious arranger of music in various styles and as a humorous entertainer.
Since he has discovered the 24 preludes by Weinberg he is enthused about these short pieces and their many contrasting characters. Playing concerts in Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Israel, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Germany he would like to enhance Weinberg’s publicity.
