Ilze Buligina has graduated from the Latvia State University (with distinction) with the qualification of a philologist, teacher and translator, as well as obtained a Master’s degree in education from the same university. I.Buligina holds Doctor of Science degree from the University of Latvia and a Master’s degree in social sciences (Cum Laude) from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, also receiving there the 2010 Top 3% Student Award, She has the experience of over 15 years of work as a lecturer in the higher education system and in the public administration, as well.
She is the author or co-author of around 30 scientific publications and around 10 informative or methodological materials. She presents regularly at national and international research and professional conferences and seminars, is the member of several local and international working groups and committees. I.Buligina has co-ordinated/ manged/ acted as an expert in numerous EU educational and research projects, participated in training courses and experience exchange activities in a number of European countries, such as Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Spain, Cyprus, Romania and other.
In addition to the above mentioned education she has also acquired a qualification in Law from the College of Law in Latvia. At Jazeps Vitols Academy of Music of Latvia Ilze Buligina works as an English language teacher, and she has also been doing translation and editing work for the Research Centre of the Academy.
