Līga Pētersone

Dr. art. Līga Pētersone graduated Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in 2004 (Violin, prof. Valdis Zariņš), and in 2011 she obtained a Master of Music Degree (Chamber Ensemble, prof. Gunta Rasa (Sproģe)). From 2011 to 2014, L. Pētersone continued academic doctoral studies in JVLMA, but in 2018 obtained a Doctoral Degree in Arts, defending the doctoral dissertation “Piano Trio Performance in Latvia: Historical Overview, Ensembles and Performance Traditions” (scientific advisor: assoc. Prof. Dr.art. Baiba Jaunslaviete). From 2006 to 2019, L. Pētersone was a musician of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra; in 2017 elected at Scientific Research Centre of JVLMA as a researcher. Currently, the attention and research of L. Pētersone focuses on the establishment, implementation and coordination of the professional doctoral programme In Arts.
