Ligita Zemberga (Briede) has graduated cello class of professor Evalds Berzinskis in Latvian State Conservatoire, then postgraduite studies by prof. E. Berzinskis and A.A. Lazko.2002 has given Master degree of Music. Zemberga has given solo concerts and performed as soloist with Latvian National symphony orchestra, Symphony orchestra of Liepaja, State philharmonic chamber orchestra, has appeared in different chamber ansambles, has played in duet with Imants Resnis, participated in different recordings.
From 1961 to 2001 had been musician of LNSO including 20 years as 1st cello. As 1st cello also has performed in State philharmonic chamber orchestra.
Ligita Zemberga has worked as cello teacher in Emils Darzins Music School. From 1997 lecturer in Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music, associate professor since 2006. From 2002 to 2012 head of string department.
Zemberga also has organised and supervised concerts of senior and junior cello ansambles during Mstislav Rostropovich Cello Festival in Riga. Has given masterclasses in international music camps in cities of Sigulda and Ogre as well as in Lithuanian National M. K. Ciurlionis School of Art during international cellist seminars. Has given specialized masterclasses for teachers of Latvian music schools.
In 1981 assigned as honored performing artist.
In 2013 awarded with Order of the Three Stars (5th rank).
