Terēze Zīberte-Ijaba commenced violin studies at Jāzeps Mediņš Secondary Music School with Andris Baumanis. In 2003, she received her Master’s Degree in Performance from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (JVLMA), after studies with professor Juris Švalkovskis. In 2001/2002 in frames of Erasmus exchange programme she attended the Cologne University of Music, studying with professor Gerhard Peters. Terēze Zīberte-Ijaba has honed her mastery in numerous masterclasses in Germany, Norway and Great Britain with such renowned artists as Sergey Azizian, Tatiana Grindenko, Maria Egelhof, Stephan Barratt-Due, Leo Berlin, amongst others.

She is a prizewinner of several solo and chamber music competitions; in 2011, she received Māra Dole Scholarship for her artistic activities. She is an active, international chamber musician and the winner of JVLMA Best Chamber Ensemble competition. As the principal violinist, she has collaborated with Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, as well as various chamber orchestras in Scandinavian and Baltic States. Since 2004, she is a member of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, she has appeared with chamber orchestra Sinfonia Concertante, Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.

Terēze Zīberte-Ijaba is an active musicologist; in 2015 she obtained a Doctor of Arts Degree in historic musicology after completing, internationally approbating, publishing and defending her dissertation Symphonic Orchestra as Music Institution in Riga from 1918 to 1940. Since 2007, she is a member of the Innovative Conservatoire (ICON) project. Since 2012, Terēze Zīberte-Ijaba is the Head of Strings Department at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music since. She is frequently invited to work in competition juries and to give masterclasses in Latvia and abroad.
