Guest lecturer, Department of Accompanists
Accompanist and docent Veneta Miķelsone studied piano performance at Emīls Dārziņš Secondary Music School and graduated Jāzeps Vītols Latvian State Conservatoire in 1967 (piano performance class of prof. N. Fedorovskis). She studied chamber music with H. Maija, prof. H. Brauns and prof. J. Ķepītis. Since 1964 she works as an accompanist of JVLMA String Instrument Department. Currently she collaborates with professors E. Testeļeca, J. Švolkovskis, A. Baumanis, V. Zariņš.
She has worked with professors V. Šeļegovs, V. Stūresteps, B. Tiltiņš, I. Dālmanis, E. Bertovskis, docent U.Sprūdžs and has performed with E. Testeļeca, E. Bertovskis in Latvia and abroad. She has given concerts with M. Prēdele, U. Sprūdžs, A. Baumanis, P. Šūmane, V. Sareika, V. Koreņevs, R. Lielmane as well as R. Seppela (Estonia), M. Kliegel (Germany), R. Sariola (Finland) and others. She has accompanied masterclasses of N. Šahovska, M. Rostropovich, S. Azizian (Denmark), M. Kliegel (Germany), A. Reen (Germany), E. Kovacic (Austria) and others and has participated in masterclasses in Sweden and Thailand. As an accompanist she has taken part in many competitions in Latvia, Germany, Russia, Great Britain, Estonia, Lithuania; she has received numerous diplomas and awards. Together with R. Lielmane and I.Rugēvica she received the first prize in an inter-republican piano trio competition in Estonia and performed extensively with this ensemble.
