EURAXESS is an initiative of the European Research Area (ERA), which aims to promote the international and intersectoral mobility in Europe and Third Countries and support an open labour market for researchers.
The EURAXESS job offers database is considered to be one of the key indicators for the application of open, transparent and achievement-based practices for recruitment in research positions. Latvian scientific institutions have the possibility to place their job offers for scientific staff in the EURAXESS job offers database. The EURAXESS portal can also be used to search for international cooperation partners.
To achieve the initiative’s goal, the European Commission (EC) has set up the EURAXESS network and portal. EC ensures their operation in cooperation with the Member States of European Union and its partners in Third countries – North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, South East Asia, India, China, Japan, and South Korea.
The main objective of the EURAXESS Latvia Network of Contact Points is to provide information and advice to foreign scientists on scientific career opportunities in Latvia, as well as to provide practical support in mobility to foreign scientists, who want to work and live in Latvia, and their family members. In addition, the EURAXESS Latvia Network of Contact Points provides the necessary general and contact information for support worldwide and for the scientific staff during their mobility.
