IX International Woodwind Symposium on 16.10-20.10.2023 once again returns at JVLMA as Erasmus BIP – Blended Intensive Project: our guests will be outstanding musicians and teachers Renate Greiss-Armin and Carlos Bruneel (flutes), Gregor Witt (oboe), Andreas Langenbuch (clarinet), David Petersen (bassoon), Rene Laur (saxophone), as well as clarinet students from Robert Schumann Music school Düsseldorf and Mecklenburgische Bläserakademie and YARO quintet from Rostock.
In addition to the usual masterclasses and concerts participants are offered several interesting online presentations prepared by Carlos Bruneel, David Petersen and Gregor Witt.
As usual a special accent on the woodwind chamber music. Symposium concerts will offer both previously prepared ensembles and those prepared during the Symposium week – ”La vida de los insectos” by Czech composer Vaclac Smetacek will be performed by two woodwind quintets under the artistic guidance of David Petersen, but flute choir will perform Claude Debussy “Little Suite” under the baton of Carlos Bruneel.
Symposium programme offers four concerts. Renate Greiss-Armin, Ilona Meija and Herta Hansena invite to LMT chamber hall on October 17. Symposium guests from Düsseldorf and Rostock will perform in the Small Guild Hall on October 18. . Everybody is kindly invited to the closing concert on October 20 in the JVLMA Great Hall. All concerts start at 6 p.m.
On October 19 the guests from Rostock will visit Emīls Dārziņš Music school - a long-standing partner with YARO – Young Academy Rostock.
