We are happy to announce the eight active participants in the Composition Workshop with Latvian Radio Choir Chamber Singers (August 11-17, 2025).
After examining 35 applications from 15 countries in Europe, jury members (Juste Janulyte, Liisa Hirsh, Mārtiņš Viļums, Dimitris Maronidis, Kaspars Putniņš), admitting an overall high level of applicants, decided on active participation by these young composers:
- Ernests Valts Circenis (Latvia)
- Guilherme De Almeida (Portugal)*
- Matteo Guelandi (Italy)
- Eden Lonsdale (UK)
- Filippo Scaramuchi (Italy)
- Francesco Trevisan (Italy)
- Massimiliano Vizzini (Italy)*
- Annija Anna Zariņa (Latvia)
They will compose works for eight singers and electronics. Five of the compositions will be nominated for a public performance by the Latvian Radio choir in the contemporary music festival deciBels festival in March 20, 2026.
*) These composers are nominated for "Ulysses travel" statuss.
